Artist's Statement

Because my brain is different, I inhabit a different reality from others. So my art tends to be concerned with the way our cognition shapes reality. And hence how the nature of reality differs from what we perceive. I like to draw attention to how our minds impose categories upon a chaos and create the world as we know it.

Dear Anna

I decided to look up your work after reading about your unlimited award in today's Outside in blog. Oh my goodness how incredibly beautiful is your work! Breathing Room is astounding how I would of loved to stood within and gazed upon that amazing space. It has a transcendant quality to it. Your sculptural interventions with paper seem to highlight for others to see beauty in what is right in front off them by their placement, whilst also adding their own presence; a co-existence and appreciation.

Thank you for your work.
