Sculpture, painting

I was inspired to make the copper band after fitting a gas pipe to my cooker. I had some left over pipe and thought I'd give it a go and make a guitarist, that led onto another guitarist, a singer and a drummer. I was challenged to make a full size guitarist and that's how the musicians grew to a full size band. I used to be a Gas Fitter and because of diabetes I have Diabetic Retinopathy. My eyesight deteriorated so badly that I couldn't drive anymore and had to take early retirement in 2013. I was 50. I registered with the Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) in 2014 and not long after I joined the KAB Medway Art Group. I have shown my artwork with the art group at our group exhibitions at Rochester Cathedral, the Royal Engineers Museum, Brompton, the Guildhall Museum in Rochester, Rochester Library, Sun Pier House Gallery and LV21. I enjoy the fun of making and finding out what I can do, I don't let my sight loss hold me back.
