I work and rework my paintings, blending, adding light, texture and depth, adding glazes and i love the problem-solving involved in each creation.

Painting landscapes takes time as there is so much detail and texture going on.

When I paint my landscapes I put myself there, into the painting and can feel the breeze on my face and smell the river, just as though I was there. I also paint people: fun characters from my childhood bring back happy memories, while other characters remind me of being with friends and family. I am always trying to capture a particular light in my work. Since I started on the Watts Gallery programme two years ago, I've seen myself grow in confidence and my work improve. I love these workshops as the girls and Sophie are all encouraging and helpful. My work has been widely exhibited; it is both public and private collections, and i have worked to a series of private commissions.
