six artists win solo shows in the Studio
From the 80 works selected to be exhibited in Outside In: National 2012, six were chosen as Award Winnersa by performance artist Bobby Baker, Art Historian Roger Cardinal, and ex-Director of Pallant House Gallery Stefan van Raay.
Musicians by Michelle Roberts, The ones that I've been saving to make a feather bed by Kate Bradbury, Fukushima Conjuration by Matthew Sergison-Main, Woman by Nigel Kingsbury, Cosmic Hat by Phil Baird and Mermaid by Manuel Bonifacio were named as the winning entries to the competition.
The triennial competition marks the centre-point of the pioneering Outside In project which was set up in 2006 by Pallant House Gallery to provide opportunities for artists who see themselves as facing a barrier to the art world.
