Exhibition by Isadora Reeves
The Outside In team met young artist Isadora Reeves during our week at the Outsider Art Fair in Paris in October and we're thrilled to see that she has an upcoming exhibition at the Old Firestation in Oxford.
Isadora is inspired by the artifacts, zoological specimens and archaeological objects in Oxford’s Pitt Rivers, Natural History and Ashmolean museums. Her new exhibition Drawn Together brings the spirit of these other museums to the Old Fire Station gallery.
Isadora is a self-taught artist whose abstract paintings have been exhibited in the Museum of Everything’s Exhibition 2 at Tate Modern and Crash Haye-on-Wye international arts-fair shows. Isadora also has autism and can be considered an “outsider” artist. However, an important aspect of this exhibition is how drawing has enabled her to form a connection with another artist, Slade-trained artist Jaya Mansberger, that transcends her severe communication problems.
Dates: Friday 11 November to Saturday 26 November
Venue: Arts at the Old Fire Station, 40 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2AQ
