Sussex Community Foundation awards event

Foundation grant set to fund new Outside In course

Following on from Outside In's grant from the Arthur and Doreen Green Fund at Sussex Community Foundation, the charity was invited to a special awards event at the Mayor’s Parlour, Brighton Town Hall, last night (12 February 2019).

Arthur Green, who passed away last June, was well-known in Brighton and Hove for his spirit, fun and huge generosity to the community and voluntary sector. Through his fund at Sussex Community Foundation more than £140,000 in grants has been given to many community groups working in the city and across Sussex.

The event for the Sussex Community Foundation, hosted by the mayor of Brighton & Hove councillor Dee Simson, was attended by Outside In's Kate Davey and Hannah Whitlock. They collected a certificate following Outside In being awarded £4,250 by the foundation to run the Step Up ‘Leading Workshops’ programme at Fabrica, Brighton.

Outside In's Step Up coordinator Kate Davey said: “This grant means we can deliver Step Up: Leading Workshops for the first time in Brighton.

"It will give up to 15 artists the opportunity to gain skills in delivering creative workshops, helping them to feel more confident in going on to seek voluntary, employed, and self-employed roles within the art world.”
