Friday 20 September 2019
This event, presented by Chrysalis Arts Development and Outside In, coincides with the Hard Wired exhibition and will feature artists’ talks and discussions on access and barriers.
Date: Friday 20 September
Times: 10am to 3pm
Address: Whitby Museum, Pannett Park, Whitby, YO21 1RE
This event hosted at Whitby Museum will offer an opportunity to hear from the artists currently exhibiting in the Hard Wired exhibition now on display at Whitby Library. They’ll be sharing their personal journeys and discussing their work as we dive deeper into the themes of access and barriers in the art world. The day will include individual speakers, as well as a performance and panel discussion, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
Performance by Emma Louvelle
About the organisers:
Audiences and artists alike face barriers accessing the art world. Through its Art Unpacked series, Chrysalis Arts Development has championed bringing high-quality art to rural areas and small towns. Through utilising spaces, such as libraries, the exhibition series has made art more accessible to a wider public.
Outside In is an award-winning charity helping artists facing barriers by giving them a platform. They provide artists with development opportunities, exhibitions and training. Working together on Hard Wired, both organisations are striving to break down barriers, and make art more accessible.
