My name is Alice Knight;
Originally I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder following an initial diagnosis of severe depression with anxiety. I was advised join to Creative Response in Farnham for Art Therapy. Here, I discovered that art enabled me to express my emotions and make sense of my feelings. The art has helped me channel my feelings, and enpower me to express myself clearly to supporting professionals.
I have since been diagnosed with Autism and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
My work is an exploration of using different media and it has developed into more defined symbols and ideas. I started by using symbols to represent certain features in my life, especially the support I have received for depression.
I have been exploring a variety of media starting with chalk and oil pastels then watercolour, oil paints and acrylic, collages and printing, all on a variety of surfaces. I have also experimented with needle work.
