I am passionate about art and poetry and it helps me to see the positive side of life.
From a young age, I had what is called Cerebral Palsy. I use a wheelchair and I share my bungalow with live-in carers.
By circulating my art, I will hopefully inspire others too.
I have attended several Writing and Poetry courses, including Arvon creative writing retreats. I completed a ‘future learn’ training with Warwick University, which was about literature and mental health. This explored how the written words can help us cope with deep emotional strain.
I both paint from home and at a Leamington Spa based group which is called ‘Painting for Pleasure’. We meet during term times on Wednesdays and its aim is to provide support for anyone with special needs and their carers, while we are painting or producing art together. The majority of the art that you can see here, was painted at this group, while I had much fun and good company. If you live near come and meet us. My art is reproduced in greeting cards and I sell these, often raising money for the local charities. http://www.painting4pleasure.org.uk
I enjoy horse-riding and love being a social butterfly.
