From the artist:
Part of my research residency and solo exhibition at Bethlem Gallery, Traces (2017). Detail from a quilt embroidered with my medical notes from when I had psychosis in 2006. Also included are the notes of Elsie Schmidt, a patient at Bethlem in 1800's, I felt an affinity with her as her symptoms were very similar to mine. I also included my own responses to the case notes. A dry wrap was a form of restraint in the 1800's where the patient would lie in bed and be bound by sheets and quilts preventing them from moving.
