I take on the human form and nude studies, often inspired by strong women of myth and lore. Fanciful, whimsical figures emerge from wood grains or orifices I find in tree bark. I study couplehood. I play with strength and vulnerability. I draw from Native American and other indigenous cultures to capture the animus we are host for when we undo our charms. I began to draw in earnest in 2014. Received an artist enrichment grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women in 2015. I hope to give voice to strong women with a singular point of view who are self-taught and explore the human body.
