Charlie Thomas is a thoughtful and ambitious artist. He works as part of the group artist studios at Project Art Works.
Charlie has experimented with a wide range of media. He particularly enjoys drawing and modelling, using both CAD software and analogue methods. His favourite medium is the simple pencil. He will work on small- and large-scale drawings from skylines to interiors with just a single 2B.
Charlie’s current practice stems from his love of architecture and well-known buildings. He has a well-developed sense of place and immerses himself in the spaces that inspire his work. He will create mental maps of a building’s layout, alongside details of the wider environment, often over the course of multiple visits. He later uses these maps and associated memories as the basis for his work in the studio.
