Cybernetic Tyger Syx
A meticulous mind and a surgically precise hand guides the hand of the artist known as Cybernetic Tyger Syx as he delicately weaves patterns from the ether. Sometimes digitally but more often with a deftly swift swipe of the pen, he constructs the most complex of patterns. It could be said that patterns permeate the consciousness of Cybernetic Tyger Syx. It could be said that his eyes can see through the trappings of the world and gaze upon the patterns which control its systems. Beyond their seemingly abstract surface, the sketches of Cybernetic Tyger Syx describe and are derived from the very construction of existence and human nature.
The person behind the Tyger
For some years now I have attached the moniker Painted Tiger to my more ‘traditional’ artwork but now I have taken on a new identity.
The name which I have chosen for myself is partly derived from my fondness with a certain genus of mammal and a dark little joke at myself. My wider work has a recurring theme of identity and, for me, the Painted Tiger identity adds a legitimacy to my 2D work that allows me to engage with the wider artistic community. I am a high functioning artistic/autistic individual and one of the things I enjoy is creating artwork that uses my visual skills to give people an insight into the way my brain processes (and copes with) the world in this pattern-based, analytical way. Over the past few years though my artwork has gone beyond drawn patterns to include installation, social media art, sculpture, photography, projection mapping, writing and urban art.
