From the artist:
This painting was inspired by a puddle created after heavy rain in the road where road works were taking place. The water had collected in a long crevice that the road work had created and was filled with leaves and had rubble around the edges. It looked like a stream and the leaves in the water reminded me of the Pre-Raphelite painting by Sir John Millais, 'Ophelia', only there was no Ophelia in the water, hence the title.
