began at art college graduating in graphic design & illustration in
the 1980’s. After working in the graphic design industry I began to
suffer from depression meaning I was unable to continue work.
In 2000 I suffered a severe stroke and was hardly able to walk, write or
speak. My medical team referred me to Creative Response who gave me
confidence to use my hands to work with clay. It took over 2 years to
go back to painting and drawing.
I feel that I have come a very long way with my artwork since those very
dark days. I have now regained quite a bit of what I had lost
(physically) from having the stroke and I feel, that in a strange way,
it has made me stronger. Since then, I have gone on to develop new
ideas and ways of working clay, drawings and paintings. I mostly
handbuild my pottery; making a lot of detailed animal figures which are
my passion. I also like experimenting as well. My painting is
primarily done at home.
