From the artist:
This picture was taken on an August day in 2019. When I take photos I usually have nothing particular on my mind…But sometimes I can see meaning in an image at a later stage. Once I looked it, I realised it tells my story. The picture shows me looking into a window….there is a colourful artwork in a frame just in front of me …it is the world I have recently moved into, creating images, framing them, doing exhibitions..... when you look closer there is also an old building in the image. It is the crown court on the other side of the road. I turn my back to it but I can still see a reflection of the court building in the window. The mirroring image of the court building could be a metaphor for memories and formative experiences. The court is, where I spent 15 years of my life, first during my A level law and then during my law & criminology degree & later to do research in form of a Phd... observing court hearings, the work of judges, noting down every word they said, how they said it,.... ...the ways defendants are treated during hearings... ..day in, day out.... For many years the court used to be my place of work.. a place of emotions, now a place of memories the court building like no one else knows all my secrets, it will keep them in its walls ............. and there in front is the framed piece of art, my gaze is turned towards it... I am now back on an old path, as an emerging artist and writer, equipped with the discipline & self- organisation of a scholar.
