From the artist:
The photo was taken on one of our many visits to see our daughter at Canterbury. It captures more than a personal moment, my husband walking away from me. The image shows the misty atmosphere often associated with Britain. Mist transforms environments and how we experience them. Misty environments also spark our imagination. Mist makes it difficult to see in the distance - the man walking on the bridge seems to almost disappear. The old-fashioned lamps create little golden spots, which look like decorations, but they barely light the place. Their light is dim. There is something mysterious, almost spooky, about this scenario, stimulating our imagination. It reminds one of a Hitchcock film where you are not sure who is coming around the corner, or where the path is leading to. The photo is printed on canvas paper to enhance the effect of an oil painting.
