Width: prints on canvas paper, various sizes
From the artist:
For 27 years I lived in an industrial city in Germany. Since early childhood I yearned for wide and open spaces, the countryside, nostalgic little houses. My dream came true when I moved to Sussex. The environment here not just has a healing effect on body & mind but its historical heritage & beauty inspires me & sparks my imagination. The series" Nostalgic Sussex" has been inspired by landscapes around the county. The original photo has been taken in 2017 at Barcombe Mills. I edited the image to create the look of an old oil painting. The effect is enhanced by printing it on canvas paper. The image shows an idyllic scenario reminding of an old oil painting. There is a golden glow, creating a warm & welcoming atmosphere. At the centre is a tree with wide branches, it could be a metaphor for a protective shelter. A woman sits underneath, totally absorbed, reading. The tree stands in an open space, accessible to everyone who is near. Two figures can be seen further away in the background, closely walking together. The image represents an ideal environment, for many living in crowded city spaces not accessible. The photo is printed on canvas paper to enhance the effect of an oil painting.
