From the artist:
The picture has been taken after a countryside walk with a friend, from Lewes, East Sussex to the village Glynde. The sky is greyish with fragments of white- yet it does not create a gloomy atmosphere. There is a golden glow on the bushes in the background and the field in the forefront which dominates the scenario in the image. Its lush green stalks look like swaying in the wind. A sense of a wide, open space, no fences, no borders, no animals or humans can be seen far or near. But there is a sign that settlers must be here: A focal point of the image is a little, old church in the background. It almost looks like sinking with the bushes into the valley. The church could be a sanctuary to anyone who needs shelter. The image has the appearance of an old painting, inviting to inspire the viewers imagination. One of my followers on a social network site wrote a beautiful poetry in German as a response to the image. Another one wrote this: "cela me fait rêver, j'irai peut-être visiter l'Angleterre, très, très envie !"This makes me dream, I might go to visit England, very, very much wish this! Like the other images of the series, it represents an ideal environment: a place of peace & serenity, undisturbed nature, somewhere to experience its sounds, smells, touches & sights, to sit and rest, paint or write a poem - sometimes to enjoy the church bells. An environment many people dream of.
