From the artist:
Z Bends (Winter Sunshine) refers to a view point on the Sussex Coast, between Beachy Head and Birling Gap, where you can see across the fields to Belle Tout lighthouse and Seaford Head. I enjoyed a happy moment of bright, winter sunshine, accompanied by my parents and sister. For this piece, I have used a looser weave style, taught to me by Fay Hankins who was an assistant to Tadek Beutlich. This creates different effects of light, colour and texture requiring a more textural combination of yarns. I have used unspun jute to represent the dry, winter pasture and create the glow of the sunlight.
