For me Art is a life long fundamental and inherent occupation, running alongside and sometimes influenced by life’s experiences. I produce work that reflects upon a reality parallel or past while embodying hopes for the future.
I am an Artist –I create Art because it gives me a sense of purpose, a reason for being and a sense of fulfillment by pleasing others with my work. I approach my work with an open heart and open mind. Having faith in what I practice and experiencing emotions of strong affection and personal attachment to both my medium and subject.
In the beginning there is nothing more intimidating than a blank canvas. I find there are different aspects to my Art. Some comes from repetition, producing work that evolves and builds upon previous works. Some have narrative and illustrative meaning. Other work displays technical ability and skillful use of tools. In specializing in one media I have found that the skills developed are transferable to other media.
Digital media is my medium of choice. I remember the first BBC computers in junior school, nobody knew how to operate them. There were rumors at Art College about the creative convergence of digital arts, science and technology. I find it very exciting and hope to continue to grow alongside the technology as it develops.
With human emotions, the same image can look different at different times even occasionally glowing with cosmic energy. A piece of artwork is never finished; it has to be abandoned due to influences such as time and reality. As we hope to evolve over the coming millennia and humanities past seems barbaric and war torn. Hopefully our Art and Science will develop for good. I believe that we are just beginning to perceive and that reality is an illusion.
