I was born in Ireland in 1959 but have lived all my life in the UK. in the 1980s I spent time entertainment business as a dancer, singer and mime. I now live in London and West cork where I continue to create and be inspired by the landscape and ancient tales of other worlds, which is a main theme of my work. I have always tried as an artist to be true to my form and style, changing when and only when i felt that it was time to experiment and try a different media. Im inspired by the artists of Benin and African art in general as well as Ancient Celtic knot work, the mystical and unseen appeal to me. The biro has been my choice of medium and it has been an amazing journey. Now im using coloured felt tip pens and coloured pencils as well as the biro. In my childhood I lived behind the Tate Modern here in London UK and used to sit and draw, to this day I still visit the Tate for inspiration. Drawing is so relaxing and I really love the journey from sketch to finished piece…its calming and a lovely way to express myself.
