From the artist:
I used oil pastels and enamel paint on paper because I wanted to work large scale and at speed. I was thinking about the dizziness of the world. How it made me feel. This is one of a series I made in Spain and have only recently got back. In Andalucia I was overwhelmed by the vastness of the landscape I was walking through, and the incredible sky. Nothing felt hidden, by buildings or man-made structures. There was the sense of how tiny I was in the vastness of land and sky, how intense the colours were, almost like looking through a stain glass window. This is one of a series of large drawings I made incorporating what I called 'shotgun flowers' because it seemed everything was shot through with colour .
