From the artist:
This is one of a series of mixed media works in which I examined my new life and environment, having moved to a trailer park on the coast, after living in a city for the previous few years. The printmaking, ink, paint and text are collaged onto a found piece of thick cardboard, which is significant to the subject matter. At the time of making the piece, the weather was harsh, icy, but when I walked out, instead of seeing the homeless figures in sleeping bags, almost frozen stiff, that I had become accustomed to. there was the beauty of hoar frost on branches, the wooden bus shelter did not have a frozen body inside. But I still saw them in my mind's eye. The cocooned figures, even amongst the beauty of a place where I have not yet seen a homeless person.
