Mindfully made art to express my emotions, feelings and mental health issues in a healthy way. I work with paint, sharpies, clay, whatever grabs me at a particular moment, and what comes out tends towards more dreamlike and illogical subjects as befits an ‘inner world.’
For the outer world, there’s photography. I enjoy finding lines, patterns and small details in the world that are easy to miss; when stuck in dissociative fog it’s sometimes hard to even feel ‘present’ so finding the little things helps ground me again.
Ultimately it’s about finding my identity in a chaotic and often frightening world. I’m not always sure of who ‘Lisa’ is, but my materials and camera bring me closer to finding out.
