“I haven’t been painting very long maybe a couple of years after my wife of 15 years left. I’ve been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but with medication I can handle it pretty well.
I took art at Garendon School in Loughborough where I had an art teacher that was very enthusiastic and wanted me to pursue my art. He would even get me out of other lessons so that I could carry on with art. He was very good. If I had of gone to art school I think they would have tried to mould me into something else and I wouldn’t be producing the work I do now. My work is inspired by life experiences, both good and bad.
Painting gives me a lot of satisfaction and even though most of the time I have no idea what it all means. However I feel good when some people like what I do. I can’t really say much more I’m not very good with words.”
