I am Lone Cowgirl in the hot dry wilderness of The Swaglands, me and my open-air Outback cinema, waiting for the climate exodus to arrive.
My work focuses on the power of imagination to permit emotional and social wellbeing, particularly through inhabiting characters.
I use leisure, literary and pop culture references to contextualise a conceptual fantasy land called the “Swaglands”.
This ‘place’ is a demonstrative template for ecologically enlightened and emotionally exploratory living.
There are characters, locations etc… such as the Outback Swaglands Cinema run by Lone Cowgirl (me!)
I work almost entirely with post-consumer and found materials as well as kitchen by-products for pigments and dyes, aiming to waste as little as possible and contaminate our waterways and ecosystems as little as possible.
I paint, sew, print, draw, dye, use drills and nails and hammers to make things to go in homes, and I write a LOT; essays, songs, articles and currently a film script.
