From the artist:
After I exhibited with Outside In's 'Radical Craft' exhibition, I was asked to show some work at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. This is the piece they chose, an exploration of beauty and the beauty industry, featuring a madonna with a halo of scalpels and syringes, a bulimic Rapunzel, an angelic Grandmother knitting a web of clone Barbie dolls, a woman shooting a mirror and the devil running off with all the wisdom piled on his back. It also features medieval scales used for the weighing of souls, but here they ask "worth it, not worth it". I used several different techniques, including layering glass, sandblasting, glass beads and painting.
