Hello, I am Richard, 58 years young and currently homeless(but not without hope) on the streets of London for the past two and a half years. I`ve experienced rough sleeping in more than a dozen British cities and was also living on the streets of Perpignan in France for a full year. Life has always been a bit of a struggle because of my restless nature. Creativity has been my definite saving grace. I`ve always drawn, doodled and painted (as well as written) and am an entirely self taught artist having turned down several overtures for Art School because I knew I couldn`t handle a structured syllabus. I have developed at my own pace. I never restrict myself to any preferred theme and will tackle usually anything that inspires me – whether it be landscapes, portraits, animals, nudes, abstracts, fantasy. I have accepted and completed many commissions and continue to do so. Pointillism is a style that I`ve become very fond of and most of my current batch of drawings are made up of dots. Time consuming but highly enjoyable and keeps me focused. Most of my drawings are done in train stations (both day and at night) as well as in a few city parks. A lot of my abstracts are work ups from originals I sketched out more than 30 years ago. I can also paint in oils very well but haven`t had much opportunity in this medium recently because it`s rather impractical for me at the moment. Right now is my dots and doodles period!!!
