Roshan Pradhan was born on 17 june 1977, in Bhojpur Bazaar. He is the son of Mr.Mthura Nath Pradhan and Mrs. Sarmista Devi Pradhan. He joined Janasewa Lower Secondary School at the age of five in Bhojpur.He studied there up to class seven and later he joined Bidhyodaya Vocational Secondary School. When he was studying there, he learned to draw some objects and masks. Actually, he is influenced by his brother’s art work. His brother studied at Budhanilkantha School. He was also very good at drawing. When he used to go to his village home during the vacation, he used to do drawing and painting and his younger brother Roshan used to sit next to him and see him painting. Since that time, he has keen interest in drawing and painting and started to learn. Although, the materials needed to learn drawing were not available there, during his school time, with his simple materials, he took part in District Level Art Competition organized by Bhojpur district and he stood second position and received a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 250/- in 2047 B.S.
He came to Kathmandu in 2050 B.S. and studied at Merryland Public High School and passed S.L.C. from Indreshwori Secondary School, Melamchi, Sindhupalchowk. After passing S.L.C., he admitted to Lalit kala College at Bhotahity and took painting as his major subject . He passed Bachelor’s Degree in fine art from there. Now he has completed his Master’s first year and running in the second year of fine art at Fine Art College in Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

He did ‘Solo’ Painting Exhibition in 2007 in the title ‘HANGER’
Group Art Exhibition:
He has participated in many group exhibitions. His first exhibition was Art Fair ’98’at Fine Art College , Bhotahity in 1998.Then after that, he did with other 39 students of his college to do Group Art Exhibition at J Art Gallery in Durbar Marg in 1999,in 2001 he did Group Art Exhibition organized by NAC (Zero Century Nepal),in the same year, he went to Pokhara with the young artists for Group Art Exhibition, organized by (ZCN), again in the same year, he sent some of his paintings for Group Art Exhibition to Fukuoka, Japan , again he participated in National Art and Craft Exhibition organized by NAFA in 2001. ‘Three Men Show’ Exhibition, NAC (ZCN) in2002,Group Art Exhibition, NAC (ZCN) in 2002,Group Art Exhibition, Darjeeling (ZCN) in 2002, Joint Art Exhibition, Sikkim, India in 2002, Group Art Exhibition, Fukuoka City, Japan in 2003, National Art and Craft Exhibition, NAFA in 2003, National Art and Craft Exhibition, NAFA in 2004, Group Art Exhibition, Gallery Nine in 2004, ‘ Vibration’ Group Painting and Sculpture Exhibition in 2005, National Art and Craft Exhibition, NAFA in 2005, Group Art Exhibition in Bangladesh in 2010,Group Art Exhibition at Balmandir in 2010, 14th Asian art biennale in Bangladesh in 2010 and National Art Exhibition in 2011.
