I have always had a powerful motivation to create and have utilised it in a wide variety of areas to date -some more productive than others. I’ve an equal liking for detail, spontaneity, intuitive expression, realism and abstraction and use a wide variety of media to express myself including textiles and writing. I’ve learnt that it’s largely pointless me trying to conform to one theme, style or medium, which proves to restrict my natural diversity. However, the downtrodden or ‘insignificant’, do tend to feature in my creations, perhaps because I understand how the disenfranchised need a voice. I make art firstly from a need to, and mainly for myself; and it’s largely gone unseen. I can vault between playful and quite dark and don’t always know what I’m creating until it’s shows itself to me. Outside in offers an opportunity to have artwork seen and hopefully appreciated.
