Since childhood I’ve had a powerful motivation to create and expressing this drive has proved a vital therapeutic outlet which I have utilised in a wide variety of areas to date”“some more productive than others. Experience has taught that for me it’s pointless trying to conform to one style, theme or medium as it restricts my natural diversity, which is reflected in an equal liking for detail, spontaneity, intuitive expression, realism and abstraction. The downtrodden or ‘insignificant’, tend to feature in my creations be it art or writing -perhaps because the disenfranchised including myself need a voice more and more. I make art for myself from need to as much as for the enjoyment and freedom it gives me, therefore all my years of handiwork have pretty much gone unseen. I sometimes vault between playful and dark depending on circumstances and don’t necessarily know what I’m doing until it’s done. I just follow my automaton! Outside in offers an opportunity to have some artwork seen and hopefully appreciated. Sally Case.
