Art is education, from colour, culture, and history. Art also helps me be calm, and energetic at the same time. It gives me confidence and approval from my peers.
I like that my art is eclectic, and challenging, finely painted portraits and drawings or pieced together sculpture and mixed media projects.
Producing art makes me feel challenged, excited, reflective, expressive, happy, sad, frustrated, glad, thoughtful and alive. I’d like people to feel admiration, and sometimes puzzled as to what it is or how was it made.
There are too many great artists to name that inspire me, artist that produce fine art/ sculpture, to artist that work with junk and re-cycled stuff.
My role as a new artist is to learn skills, techniques and styles. Help me develop as a person and possibly help to change the attitude towards ex-users, ex-offenders, homelessness and mental health.
I have applied to Brighton City College for a foundation in Art and Design. I hope to sell / exhibit my art and improve my employability and health.
I’d like my art to evoke feeling and thought, but something engages them. For people to say “that’s good or great”, or “what is it?” or “wow look at the colours!”
