My name is Thomas Sharrock and I’m an artist from Ashford. I’ve been doing art since 2006 as I studied Art and Design at Canterbury College and getting a BA (Hons) in Visual Arts in University of Kent. My work is caritcature My theme is news events and satire. I find news stories from politics and pop culture, and then I write a joke about in a humorous way. I like to mixed media to combine into a cartoons likeness and write joke on the comic speeches.
My influences are Glenn Fitzpatrick, Ralph Steadman and the Gerald Scarfe. These artists are rebels with their art as rebel and hideous ways to their work. I draw of caricatures style with humour from news stories and references classic pop cultures to parody such as Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and other politicians to sketch. Even using famous people for being in the wrong as my way to satirical them.
