“Bathala na!” The phrase “Bahala na” is a Filipino cultural trait, and a linguistic expression best interpreted with regard to conditions and circumstances. It is deemed to have been derived from “Bathala,” which literally means God in Tagalog translation. Hence, leaving everything in care of God. This indigenous and providential mindset has developed into the core values of the contemporary Filipino identity. Particularly interesting how one can remark the expression as irresponsible or otherwise. This pandemic created a state of retrospect towards our spirituality. Today’s “bahala na” approach caused turmoils in our communities. The once presupposed providential upbringing resulted to an abusive and careless culture. Our indigenous knowledge and practices taught us to be resilient with high regards to our universal concept of Bathala. It is within our stream of conscious presence, the key to inculcate positive and responsible practice of "Bathala na!"
