Multi media piece – 100% cotton thread, 100% cotton cloth, graffiti spray paint, acetate sheet, plastic peg, stamp. Poem by Villie Flari. An imagery of nostalgia for carefree, innocent leisure during summer months, i.e. main annual holidays. I felt carefree during summertime in long gone years, and I wanted to share this feeling and provide to the viewer a lever to visit such a place. This innocence has been gradually lost particularly as our knowledge about environmental and health costs of our actions (travelling included) keeps growing and solidifying. Our summers, as we knew them, are also lost as the weather patterns during these months changed and we now experience higher, intolerable temperatures, longer drought periods, sudden and heavy rainfall, floods, etc., as well as long-term consequent effects of climate change and unsustainable exploitation of resources, i.e. higher food prices, less fresh produce.
