Art as Healing

The exhibition forms part of the Edward Adamson Festival 2014, highlighting Adamson’s pioneering approach to recovery and healing in the hospital environment through art. On display will be a selection of this extraordinary collection of over 5000 drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculptures and works on flint created by patients at Netherne Hospital, between 1946 and 1981. The exhibition follows the collection’s journey from inception to a new home at the Wellcome Trust Library. For more information on the festival visit www.slam.nhs.uk/adamson.
