Artichoke Magazine provides a platform in Cornwall to promote equity of access by supporting adults of all abilities. They support a particular genre of creative practice, which operates on the boundaries of mainstream art; those that expresses raw, intuitive, emotional energy, that departs from the cultural norm and manifests in all kinds of arts.
Artichoke Magazine has risen from a participatory research project, “Spontaneous Combustion” that explored different approaches to creativity. Forming a magazine seemed a logical next step to continue supporting those individuals who might consider themselves to be on the margins of the art world for various reasons.
To date they have published four issues of A4 size with full colour printing.
