From 4th – 6th May 2018, Outside In is hosting the European Outsider Art Association (EOA) Conference at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester (UK). The conference is aimed at artists, curators and collectors as well as representatives from museums, galleries, collections, art projects and studio groups.
The 2018 conference focuses on ‘the Artist’s Voice,’ celebrating the work of excluded and non-traditional artists and sharing best practice in the field through a series of presentations, key note speeches and workshops delivered by artists, practitioners and academics. The keynote speech to open the conference on the Friday evening will be given by multi-disciplinary artist Bobby Baker.
In the run up to the conference (2nd-3rd May), a VIP programme of activities has been scheduled that will include trips to artists' studios and relevant art galleries in the area.
Tickets will go on sale to EOA members on 8 January and to non-members on 1 February 2018.
Opportunity for Outside In artists to present their work at the conference
As part of the conference, Outside In would like to give five Outside In artists the chance to present their work to the people attending the conference. Each slot will be fifteen minutes long, and artists will be able to use a slideshow presentation to show and talk about their work in that time.
If interested in the opportunity, artists should send three images of their work and a paragraph (no more than 300 words) on their artwork and why it would be good to present it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Artists will receive £50 for presenting their work, as well as help towards travel costs.
The deadline for submissions is 9am, Wednesday 28th February 2018.
