This year, for the first time, Outside In took part in the Outsider Art Fair in Paris from 23 – 26 October, showcasing the work of four artists: Jan Arden, Manuel Lanca Bonifacio, Kate Bradbury and Chaz Waldren. It was a hugely successful event, and we are very proud to be able to say that we sold work to key European Outsider Art and Art Brut collectors.
The fair itself had over 2,000 visitors over the weekend, and the feedback about Outside In was extremely positive. We made several sales over the weekend, and still have further enquiries to follow up. The main buyers were:
The Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, who purchased eight works by Manuel Bonifacio. This is the most famous collection of Art Brut in the world, and the home of Jean Dubuffet's collection.
The dealer Henry Boxer purchased five works by Manuel Bonifacio, and is going to take the artist's work to the New York Outsider Art Fair in 2015.
The private and extremely prestigious Dammann Collection from Switzerland also purchased a work by Manuel Bonifacio.
The Domingo Collection in Marseille purchased a work by Kate Bradbury.
We had an exciting time meeting new people and making new contacts, as well as meeting the buyers of the artists' works. For a more in detail account of the Fair, we asked artist and Outside In Ambassador Carlo Keshishian if he would write about his experience at the event. You can read his full report here.
