Eat healthy foods especially ones that improve your immunity…
What we eat makes a huge difference to how we feel so eating a healthy balanced diet can help if you’re feeling low or struggling at this time. Below are some examples of foods that will give your body what it needs to fight off the virus and also improve your general health and well being.
Vitamin C increases the amount of infection-fighting white blood cells and antibodies in your body. The Vitamin C foods that boost your immune system best are guava, papaya, strawberries, kiwi, orange, and grapefruit. Vitamin C supplements are also an option.
Beta carotene increases the number of infection-fighting cells, foods high in this are carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, and kale. Foods that boost your immune system containing bioflavonoids (aids the immune system by protecting the cells) include: berries, cherries, grapes, grains, celery, parsley, grapefruit, oranges, onions, radishes, tomatoes, leeks, and broccoli. Zincincreases the production of white blood cells which fight infection, foods that are rich in zinc are oysters, crab, beef, turkey (dark meat), and beans. Garlic helps multiply infection-fighting white blood cells.Selenium increases natural killer cells and mobilizes fighting cells, best food sources are tuna, whole grains, brown rice, egg yolks, cottage cheese, chicken, sunflower seeds, Brazil nuts, and lamb chops. Foods that are also rich in Omega 3 and vitamin E, such as salmon, tuna, sardines and almonds also boost the immune system.
As you can see there are plenty of options for all diets so begin to experiment with eating more of these delicious foods, and see how much better you feel. And remember to drink plenty of water to flush your system to remove any toxins and keep your body hydrated.
