Project Ability is pleased to present the first exhibition by Art Matters, a supported group of young adults aged 21-28yrs who get together every Saturday to socialise and make art.
The artists have been focused on creating a self-portrait each, an activity that is representative in initiating the group as a collective in the gallery for the first time.
The exhibition will present a visual profile of each artist and considering portraiture as a traditional way of working, the results are far from generic. Slipping into the spontaneous and the individual, each artist demonstrates their own distinctive style and character causing the typologies of portraiture to fall apart.
Dates: 6 – 28 September 2013
Open: Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm
Address: Project Ability, Trongate 103, Glasgow, Scotland, G1 5HD
