Young Talent is Project Ability’s annual showcase of the artwork created by children and young people from the Create Programme, now in its 14th year. To celebrate the artwork of the Create artists, they are presenting a diverse assortment of painting, drawing, sculpture and film.
Also included in this year’s showcase is work made by artists attending Art Matters, a group of young adults aged 21-28 who are independently driven in their work, as well as specially selected work from this year's Young Talent on Screen Festival.
Opening Thursday 4 September 6-8pm and Saturday 6 September 1pm-2pm
Also this month from Project Ability – 'Flowers of the Commonwealth Exhibition' is a celebration of Commonwealth culture and identity through the exploration of national flowers of the Commonwealth countries and territories. Over the last 5 months, Project Ability artists have worked with schools, groups and individuals the length and breadth of the country to create over 100 beautiful floral patches which have now been sewn into wonderfully colourful banners and can be seen in the foyer of Trongate 103 from 4 – 27 September. There will be a special opening event on Thursday 4 September from 12 – 2pm, to bring together and celebrate the achievements of all of those who took part. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
