An exhibition of Liz Atkin's work is taking place at UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles from 26 October – 10 January 2016 and the University of Southern California (from January 2016). Liz is a London-based visual artist, whose work is underpinned by physicality, with her skin as a primary source for imaginative transformation. She creates intimate artworks, photographs and performances exploring the body-focused repetitive behaviour of skin picking.
As the result of a Kickstarter campaign, Liz is travelling to LA where she will speak to medical students and staff at both venues about her lived experience of Compulsive Skin Picking, her artwork and her recovery. You can follow the project's progress by clicking here.
