The Old Bank Open is currently showing work contributed by people from Coventry & Warwickshire with lived experience of mental health problems. The show is keen to showcase a range of ideas and styles whilst providing an opportunity to elevate the work into a eclectic collection of otherwise unrelated artwork. We have been particularly keen to harness all contributions by presenting all work on an equal footing and by supporting people to feel more confident about showing their work.
The show also intends on “opening up” issues around mental health, stigma and discrimination by inviting open access to the work which is exhibited with a mental health service in the heart of Warwick. At the same time we intend debunk popularly held myths around mental health by exhibiting a range of works, which shed light on the inner thoughts of up to 25 artists.
The exhibition is open to the public on weekdays between 2pm – 4pm until 25 October 2013. All welcome.
