Peter Furtado was a dedicated fine artist. Skilled in both drawing and painting, he liked to focus on traditional subjects: portraits, landscapes and still life. Peter’s artwork is exceptionally precious. He was meticulous about details and would ponder over the making of almost every mark until it felt absolutely right. Many of Peter’s paintings and some of his drawings took up to five months to complete.
Peter was one of the original artists on the first ActionSpace pilot studio project in Wandsworth and worked with ActionSpace for over 17 years. Peter passed away in April 2013 and will be missed tremendously by everyone at ActionSpace.
This SOLO exhibition is an opportunity to celebrate the work and life of this exceptional artist.
