Outside In is holding an afternoon of poetry readings and performances at Pallant House Gallery on Saturday 27 June 2015 (2-4pm with a tea break). We have invited two guest poets, Colin Hambrook and Kevan Taplin, to share their poetic performances alongside eight pre-booked open mic slots.
Colin Hambrook has 20 years’ experience as a manager/ editor/ researcher for a variety of web and print based disability arts and mainstream publications. He established DAO Ltd (www.disabilityartsonline.org.uk) in 2004 with a vision for the journal to achieve widespread appreciation for the richness and diversity of disability arts and culture. As an artist and poet in his own right Hambrook is author of two illustrated poetry collections: 100 Houses, DaDaSouth (2011) and Knitting Time (Waterloo Press, 2013).
Kevan Taplin can usually be seen as part of the electro-acoustic trio Front Porch, who have supported acts such as Edwina Hayes, Brooks Williams and the poet John Hegley. As a poet he has been published in numerous anthologies and has been highly commended / shortlisted in four National Poetry Competitions. His poetry booklet ‘Songs from the Electric Giraffe’ was published last year.
The event is free and open to everyone – just come along to Room 11 at Pallant House Gallery on Saturday 27 June.
