From 14 June to 14 September 2014 Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Carlisle is hosting an exhibition of works by Richard Slee.
As one of Britain’s most important contemporary ceramic artists, Carlisle born Richard Slee challenges conventional notions of ceramic art. The playful objects he produces are inspired by familiar objects in our daily lives.
Tullie House and Prism Arts would like to invite artists to submit ideas to create a piece of work in response to the exhibition. The commission is open to Outside In registered artists or artists experiencing barriers to accessing mainstream arts opportunities because of disability, health or social circumstance. Artists need to be living in the North of England.
One artist will be selected and awarded £650 to produce a new work to be included in the exhibition. The successful artist will have access to Prism Arts Studio to create the work if needed.
