Outside In are very saddened to say that artist Patrick Joyce has passed away. The team would like to take this opportunity to thank Patrick for his participation in Outside In events, and to pass on our huge condolences to his family and friends.
Louise Sheridan, of the Bracton Centre has said: "It is with great sadness that we would like to inform you that our dear artist friend Patrick Joyce passed away in June. His vibrant paintings live on in memory of him and continue to be enjoyed by all who see them. Outside In played a big part in celebrating his work on their website and exhibiting his paintings in several group exhibitions."
Greer Mac Keogh, of The Koestler Trust, says: "I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Patrick's passing. He was so enthusiastic about painting and I was amazed to see from his book of images, how prolific he had been. I think we can safely say he was gifted in that special way that only true artists are, in that they can’t help making work, creativity and self-expression just flows out of them."
Fiona Curran, also of The Koestler Trust added: "All of us here are really sad to hear that. His bright colourful artwork will be missed. He really did gain a lot of Awards over the last few years, and we’re really pleased that they made a difference. Please pass on our condolences to his family, from a charity that he played a big part in supporting."
